JAKARTA - Microsoft pada Juli 2017 memutuskan mematikan Sistim Operasi Windows Mobile. Saat itu Microsoft tak lagi mendukung Windows Phone 8.1, versi yang paling populer dari OS-nya.
Namun sepertinya Microsoft menganulir keputusannya sendiri. Diketahui, mulai pekan ini Microsoft mulai menjual HP Elite x3, sebuah perangkat yang telah dispekulasikan bakal hadir selama berbulan-bulan sebelumnya. Ponsel cerdas itu didukung oleh prosesor Snapdragon 820, speaker stereo, dual SIM, RAM 4 GB, dan ruang penyimpanan 64 GB yang dapat ditambah. Hebatnya, handset diperkuat baterai berkekuatan 4150 mAh.

The HP Elite x3 is a large, water-resistant handset that sports a 6-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, coming with both iris, and fingerprint scanners. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor (a previous top of the line CPU), further featuring stereo speakers, dual SIM support, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage space, and a 4150 mAh battery.
This is definitely an interesting smartphone, and HP has done a nice job designing and building it. However, given the fact that Windows Mobile is no longer relevant (not even to Microsoft), and there are plenty of newer, similarly-priced handsets out there, the Elite x3's arrival on Verizon is probably too little, too late.
